stepped out of my comfort zone and found a running partner

Amy and I
Pope Airfield
Distance: 6.80 miles
Time: 1:23 mins
Pace: 12:09

Today, I hit a personal mile stone thanks to Amy! We ran Pope Airfield base ending with a 6.80 miles finish. I had no clue what to expect considering I never ran in this area, and definitely wasn't prepared for any hills..lol. But with Amy by my side supporting me running at my pace, encouraging me that I can keep going and I got this even thou I wanted to fall out ;we concur the airfield!!! I appreciate all of the encouraging coaching she gave me and the no runner left behind mentality;because I felt I was holding her back. She kept running beside me supporting, pushing and motivating me. I look forward to running with her again. I not only found a new challenging running spot but a awesome running partner!! I'm excited to have share my mile stone with her!

I'm one of Amy friends on dailymile. We never talked but always stopped by each other page to give a Way to go, nice run, motivation or You go girl kinda of respond. We eencourage each other on all of the  goals we would reached. We reconnected on facebook since we are now in the same location. Amy has completed a 5k,10k,( 2) half  Marathon and a Marathon! Which she ran her first Marathon before doing a half. So like they always say you surround yourself with like minded people. She has been where I'm trying to go. Although, I felt very imitated running with ..but didn't let her know :o), she was right by my side every step and mile encouraging me.

I'm so excited about running this new airfield!  It was definitely a challenge, can we say hills!!! From what Amy was told, the perimeter of the airfield is only 6 miles;but I think we took an extra road or something because we ended up running 6.80 miles. Amy always wanted to run this airfield but was afraid of getting lost. It's a lot of twist and turn getting off one path just to get on another. Nothing like the one in WA. But am up for the challenge and know I will enjoy running and conquering those hill. Thank you again Amy for the push!!! YOU ROCK!!

September 6, 2011 ( 9/67) rest day

Today: Sept 7, 2011
Great morning time bonding shared with my oldest son and youngest son while we walked to the park! Once at the park Alvin ran with me and almost made me died(lol)..I envy fast long leg stride runners :o/. But he pushed me and I got my 5 mile walk/run activity in! Ahh, the joy of motherhood!
